讲座内容简介:

         Competition for resources is a fundamental interaction between species and therehas been a lot of experimental and theoretical analyses of nutrient-limited phytoplankton growth and competition studies. The simplest competition models neglect differences between individuals, using one ordinary differential equation to govern the dynamics of each species. These population dynamics are coupled to dynamics of one or more resources by assuming a constant quota of nutrient per individual, or equivalently, a constant yield of individuals from consumption of a unit of resource. In fact, quotas may vary, leading to variable-internal-stores models.

         In this talk, I shall discuss some systems modeling nutrient consumption, storage, and population growth in spatially varying environments (PDEs system) or temporally varying environments (ODEs system with time-periodic coefficients).

 

讲座人简介

王埄彬,台湾长庚大学教授,2009年于台湾国立清华大学获博士学位,导师为国际生物数学专家许世壁教授。20108月至20117月在University of Western Ontario从事博士后研究工作。主要研究领域为偏微分方程、生物数学。已在《J. Differential Equations》、《J. Dynam. Differential Equations》、《Differential Integral Equations、《J. Math. Biol.》、《Math. Biosci.等国际著名杂志上发表论文30余篇。2015年获台湾理论科学研究中心年轻理论学者奖,2016年入选台湾科技部优秀年轻学者研究计划。
